Pine Ridge Elementary School will assist parents by providing excellence in academic, physical and social aspects in educating the whole child by presenting creative standards-based curricula in a safe and enriching environment with high expectations for our students to achieve their very best.
Our goals:
- Recognize a student’s education is a partnership between the school, the family and the community, and utilize every partner to further our students’ education.
- Address students’ academic needs, whether below, in the middle, or above their grade level expectations, with a specific plan to address their needs.
- Provide an exemplary, comprehensive educational program, addressing the needs of all students so that each may reach their full potential.
- Utilize accountability and assessment data as it is applied across all levels of our school to ensure that our students have the best, most comprehensive education available to prepare them for success in the 21st century.
- Present curriculum that is California standards/research-based, using best practices and flexible instruction with technology integrated across all subject areas.
- Instill a desire in every student to improve mentally, physically and socially.
- Reward students who portray individuals of good character.
- Deliver curriculum in a flexible, creative, and forward thinking manner.
- Develop an effective pre-school program that will prepare students for Kindergarten; academically, socially and emotionally.
- Provide extensive professional development to meet these goals. We will provide our teachers with the materials they need to successfully manage their classrooms.
- Supply our teachers with tools for the classroom and professional development knowledge and training that enable them to maintain educational expertise and differentiate instruction.
- Constantly examine and update our technology plan to keep up with the latest advances.
- Maintain highest quality facilities that are the envy of other districts.
- Provide and meet state and federal guidelines for the health and safety of our students.
- Maintain safe, clean and well-groomed facilities, which we will share with our community.
- Create a desire in the families of this community to attend PRS because it is the best school in our area.

Swine Flu
The

Department also recommends the following to reduce the risk of flu infection:
• Cover coughs and sneezes;
• Wash hands frequently;
• Stay home if sick;
• Keep sick children home from school;
• Get a Seasonal Flu vaccination and a Pandemic Flu H1N1 vaccination as it becomes available.
